How do you define success?

I recently posted the above pic to Facebook with a quick caption that I hoped would inspire one person to do something they had been dreaming of but so far had not had the courage to do.

One week later it had become our most popular post ever with hundreds of people chiming in from all around the country, sharing their stories and dreams of leaving everything behind for a new life, a new adventure- for many people that was the beach or the mountains. By the end of the week, over 25,000 people had viewed the post. I didn’t have anyone tell me “I am packing up the car because of the post” but I do believe it served as the inspiration one person needed to make a positive change in their lives.

For me, running away to the beach nine years ago was exactly what I needed- a fresh start and a leap of faith into the unknown. I had no idea how much fun that fresh start could bring and what a leap of faith does for your mind, body and spirit.
Here’s the thing, you don’t have to physically run away to a beach like I did to reap the benefits (although I highly recommend it!). You don’t have to join the circus or risk everything to find a new level of happiness. It could be as simple as starting a new workout routine, quitting a job you hate, leaving a relationship, starting a relationship, starting a business or pursuing a hobby that you have been making excuses not to try for too long.

Whatever your situation and whatever is holding you back in life, my message is simple: take a chance at a better life. Make the decision to do what brings you happiness- to live a life you love. Do not settle for an existence that is anything less than incredible. What’s the worst that can happen? And is the worst really all that bad?

I wish you the courage to make the decision to live a life that brings you a ton of happiness! This is YOUR life- you get to live it any way you like. Feel free to comment here or email me direct- john@livewell30a.com if you have any questions or would like to discuss. Thanks for reading!
